A referral to the Children’s Advocacy Center of East Central Missouri for a videotaped forensic interview must be received from Children’s Division or Law Enforcement and meet the following requirements:
- The child is protected.
- The child’s condition does not present as a medical emergency.
- The complaint is of a sexual offense as defined in Chapter 566.010 RSMo, serious child abuse or neglect as defined in Chapter 210 RSMo, or as a witness to a crime.
- The appointment is scheduled according to our center’s guidelines for referral procedures.
- The child must be between 3-17 years of age.
- The child must have disclosed to a mandated reporter or been subject to a cursory interview.
- A referral form must be filled out completely by the Children’s Division investigator or Law Enforcement official assigned to the case and sent to the CACECM via fax or person.
